James Thomas, proprietor of "Up
The Creek Boat Works", grew up
working with wood. Whether it was in wood shop in high school or doing
carpentry work with his father, he always had a particular knack and a
keen eye for professional looking wood products. These many years of
practice and apprenticeship have allowed him to open up his own business
to make for you his masterful nautical creations. Because Jim is an
accomplished boat builder, he is equally skillful in their repairs and
construction of other products used in similar boats. |
His fervent love for
the outdoors helps him to fit any person to the right paddle, canoe or
canoe seat. He is also very knowledgeable at helping people to understand
the importance of a sturdy, lightweight and stable boat or canoe. Jim
firmly believes that "every task can be accomplished if you follow
the right path. Every item should fit the person as well as the trip they’ll
be taking."
Jim has been working with wood and it’s use with personal watercraft
for more than twenty years. It was only until recently that he decided to
create a business out of what he loved to do so much. "Up
The Creek Boat Works" is
